ABOUT US Three Treasures Tea was created for many reasons. However, the most important, was to be able to provide tea for us to serve that is made in the traditional manner. You see, most of the tea sold in today's market is made by the modern factory style outfits that neglect the rich processing methods that start in the fields and end in the hands of highly skilled craftsman. Tea must have certain characteristics in order to be utilized not only for ceremony (the more common use of tea) but for the medicinal use in the ancient healing ways. The original uses of tea ranged from an antidote for poisons, to an effective therapy for a diseased or damaged heart. It goes unnoticed by many that all tea is originally bitter in flavor, bitter being the flavor in Chinese medicine that nourishes the heart. Thus, when one knows how to prepare the tea, the medicine is of the highest order. In order for a tea to be suitable for proper gong fu use, it must possess the attributes ascribed to the five element theory of Chinese medicine. It is very fortunate that there are a few old masters still willing to pass along the old ways of tea use. These ancient skills have been preserved and passed along for centuries and originate in the ancient Chinese culture. It is said that every tea may be prepared at least 100 different ways. Thus providing the practitioner with a vast palate of health enhancing properties to draw from. As previously stated, we use all of our teas in our classes and in our home. Our tea is produced and handled in China by traditional ways and brought to the U.S. for your enjoyment. All profits from tea sales go to supporting our work with teaching the Taoist internal arts. We invite you to give our selections a try and welcome you to the three treasures family. Many thanks to all who have taught us about tea and shared this timeless experience.
