BLACK TEA. (also known as Puerh, Polay, basket tea) comes in many forms and is the most fermented of all the Chinese teas. To be considered a true black tea, the tea leaves appear black, the soup or infused tea also appears black after proper steeping. The color is the critical factor in determining how the tea will behave after gong fu preparation both in its medicinal effects and its flavor profile. There are thousands of types (brick, tou cha, bing cha, loose leaf) of black due to the many different processing types held as trade secrets by tea families and manufacturer's. Our offerings represent quality entry level blacks that won't break the bank...this is the dilemma with blacks...the cost.
